Passengers traveling on GO Transit will begin to pay more for their fare Friday as costs will vary by distance travelled.
Increases in fare range from 35 – 55 cents, depending on the destination.
Fares that were between $4.50 and $5.80 will go up by 35 cents, fares between $5.81 and $7.35 will go up by 45 cents, and fares more than $7.35 will go up by 55 cents.
According to GO, the fare increase was made to go toward improving parking and help with increasing demand for more trains and bus trips.
Passengers who use the Presto card fare system will not see as big of an increase.
