Toronto police are investigating the city’s first homicide of 2013.

Just before 5 a.m. on Tuesday, police responded to a call from staff at Humber Finch Hospital who were treating a 22-year-old stabbing victim.

Police say it appears the man was stabbed outside a bar on Keele Street south of Steeles Avenue West earlier that morning.

"It appears that he was involved in some sort of a confrontation with another male in the parking lot. The victim was stabbed. After that he was rushed to ... hospital by his friends.," said Det.-Sgt. Dean Burks.

The man was pronounced dead at the hospital.

His identity has not been released.

Police say they are looking for two men who they say were involved in the stabbing.

The first man, who they believe stabbed the victim, is described as brown-skinned, about 5' 8" with a heavy build and braided hair. He was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans and a white baseball cap.

The second man — who was with the first suspect — is described by police as a black male, approximately 6' 2" with a slender build. He is believed to have been wearing a black jacket, black T-shirt and black toque.
