A notorious Toronto street gang has been linked to a deadly street party shooting, as well as a separate killing and a half-dozen other shootings, police say.

Toronto police issued a news release late Monday saying they had found links between "three homicides and six shootings," including the two people shot dead during a street party on Danzig Street.

Police said "the Galloway Boys street gang is linked to these events."

More than 20 people were wounded when gunfire broke out at the street party on July 16. The victims ranged in age from a 22-month-old toddler to a 33-year-old man.

Two people died in the Danzig Street shooting: Joshua Yasay, 23, from Ajax, and Shyanne Charles, 14, from Toronto.

Police said they have linked those deaths to the killing of D’Mitre Barnaby, 24, who was shot dead on Dec. 30, 2011.

They have also linked those three homicides with six shootings that occurred between Sept. 4, 2011, and Aug. 10, 2012.

A pair of news conferences are planned for Tuesday morning, in which police will update the public on the investigation into the Barnaby killing and the death of the two young people on Danzig Street.

Hours after the violence on Danzig Street, Chief Bill Blair said that police were probing the possibility that gang members were involved.

Blair also acknowledged that the Galloway Boys remained active, despite intensive police operations designed to dismantle the street gang.
