Ontario Provincial Police allege that a Vaughan man struck a pedestrian with his vehicle in Wasaga Beach on Sunday, then fled the scene.

Police were called to the scene of a collision on Mosley Street at 1:45 a.m. ET on Sunday, where a woman had been struck by a vehicle.

The 22-year-old woman was taken to a hospital in Collingwood with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police located the vehicle and determined that the driver was "under the influence of alcohol while operating it."

A 19-year-old Vaughan man faces two impaired-driving-related charges as well as a charge of failing to remain at the scene of an accident.

The accused is due to appear in court in Collingwood on Oct. 9.
