Police have taken at least seven guns off city streets since Saturday.

Toronto police issued a pair of news releases Tuesday regarding recent operations that resulted in gun seizures in the past two days.

On Monday, police executed a search warrant at a home on Rosebank Drive near the intersection of Markham Road and Sheppard Avenue East.

Police seized a loaded shotgun and a "number of crossbows" from the east-end home.

A 31-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman each face 12 weapon- and firearm-related charges.

The day before, police executed a search warrant on Vaughan Road, after receiving reports that street-gang members had been hanging out at a local bar.

Police allege that “numerous known gang members” were seen at the address on Saturday night, when a party was taking place.

After the search warrant was executed, police seized a Colt handgun, as well as ammunition for four types of guns, liquor, cash, as well as “a quantity of marijuana and crack cocaine.”

Six Toronto residents are now facing charges in connection with the Vaughan Road investigation.

Police from Toronto and Peel Region previously reported seizing five other guns in Toronto over the weekend.

Toronto police have made recent appeals for members of the public to provide them with tips about the whereabouts of guns in the city.

Police say that some of the tips they have been receiving helped get guns off the street in recent days.

"A lot of people are calling," Const. Tony Vella told CBC News.

"They’ve had enough. They want these firearms off the street."
