Toronto Mayor Rob Ford has named Earl Provost to serve as his acting chief of staff.
The mayor’s press secretary, George Christopoulos, tweeted news of the appointment on Monday afternoon.
Provost worked on the mayor’s electoral campaign and has been serving as Ford’s director of stakeholder and councillor relations.
Earlier this month, Amir Remtulla stepped down as the mayor’s chief of staff to take a position with the Toronto Pan and Parapan American Games.
Remtulla had succeeded Nick Kouvalis, who held the position during Ford’s first few months in office.
