Environment Canada says it could be a messy commute in parts of southern Ontario on Thursday morning.

The agency says in a special weather statement that a low pressure system will bring snow to southwestern Ontario overnight, and there could be freezing rain before it turns to rain in the morning.

In central parts of southern Ontario, there will be snow in the morning and possibly freezing rain before it changes to rain.

By the time the low reaches eastern Ontario later Thursday, it will bring snow or mixed rain and snow.
