A $50,000 reward was offered on Thursday in the unsolved slaying of a 61-year-old Scarborough drycleaner.
Li-Yuan "Rose" Liu was found stabbed to death in the bathroom of Top 'A' Cleaners on Finch Avenue East, on May 10, 2010.
Liu and her husband Michael had plans that same day to celebrate their 35th wedding anniversary.
Rose Liu was stabbed to death in May 2010. CBCAt a news conference at police headquarters Det. Scott Whittemore — flanked by the Liu family — said the police made the decision to offer the reward in the hopes of getting new information to help solve the case.
"If anyone has information or evidence pertaining to this murder, please contact the homicide squad .... at 416-808-7400," said Whittemore.
"We just need a couple of people to come forward and kind of give us a nudge in the right direction," Whittemore said.
Police say they are looking for a female in connection with the homicide.
The suspect in the video footage released by police is described as between 25 and 35 years old and non-white. Her hair was pulled back in a dark ponytail, and she was wearing a long, spring overcoat.
She is estimated to be about five feet eight inches tall, with a medium build.
