A Toronto family is appealing for help after a video of Jenna Morrison, the cyclist who was killed in a collision with a truck this month, was stolen from a vehicle Saturday.

The 38-year-old pregnant mother died on Nov. 7 after she ended up beneath the wheels of a truck, struck while turning at the corner of Dundas Street West and Sterling Road in the city's west end.

The videotape was inside a camera that was stolen from the car of a family friend, Aron Slipacoff, in the Leaside neighbourhood. It was to be shown at a December fundraiser called "In Celebration of Jenna," which aims to create a trust fund for Morrison's five-year-old son Lucas.

"That was the only copy of that video," Slipacoff said. "That was from 2008 when Jenna was having a beautiful moment dancing with Lucas in Kensington Market on the street."

Slipacoff said all he wants is the video.

"Whoever took the camera — or if there is a pawn shop that has it now or something — if you feel the need to keep the camera, keep the camera, but please just return the video that was in it," he said.

Earlier this month, police said no charges would be laid against the 55-year-old driver of the truck. Both Morrisson and the vehicle were making the same turn when the 38-year-old was killed.

Morrison’s death prompted Toronto MP Olivia Chow to put forward legislation requiring large trucks to have side guards to prevent cyclists from falling beneath their wheels.

The accident triggered an outpouring of grief from Toronto cyclists, who held a memorial ride in her honour on Nov. 14.

Anyone with information about the camera or video has been asked to contact police.
