Ontario's Special Investigations Unit said no more officers will be charged in the case of Adam Nobody, the man who suffered facial fractures after being apprehended by police during last summer's G20 summit in Toronto.

"In my view, there are no reasonable grounds to believe that any identifiable officer committed a criminal offence with respects to the outstanding aspects of the investigation," Ian Scott, director of the SIU, said in a release.

Toronto police Const. Babak Andalib-Goortani, 30, was charged in December 2010 with assault with a weapon in relation to the Nobody case.

Nobody, 27, alleges he was beaten on two separate occasions by police at Queen's Park on June 26, 2010.

This was the second time the SIU looked into the incident.

The arm's-length agency, which examines cases of police wrongdoing, reopened its investigation on November 30, 2010 after receiving an original video from a man who taped the incident.

It was this investigation that lead to the charge against Andalib-Goortani.

The SIU said it interviewed a number of officers who were present or involved in the arrest but none could make a "positive identification of any subject officers striking the complainant."

Accordingly, Scott said the SIU would close its investigation.

"In sum, no individual, police or civilian, can point to any of the three remaining subject officers under investigation depicted in the videos or still photographs striking Mr. Nobody," he said.
