Tornadoes may have struck Ont. communities
Environment Canada says it's had several unconfirmed reports

Possible tornadoes have been reported in Ontario as a line of severe storms swept eastward.
Environment Canada said there were unconfirmed reports of possible tornadoes in the community of Fergus and the Township of Blandford-Blenheim, southwest of Kitchener. Ontario Provincial Police said there was damage in Plattsville, a small community in Blandford-Blenheim.
Trees and hydro lines were downed along Hofstetter Road and Township Road 14.
CBC meteorologist Nick Czernkovich said winds of up to 110 km/h hit the Kitchener-Waterloo area, causing widespread power outages.

Andrew Lupton/CBCAn 11-year-old Kitchener girl suffered a fractured leg when a large oak tree fell on her, said Waterloo Regional Police. The girl was pinned underneath the tree on Pepperwood Drive.
The storms swept northeast through Toronto and the Ottawa area late Wednesday afternoon and brought high winds and heavy rain.
Environment Canada issued a tornado warning for the area north and west of downtown Ottawa, in the Aylmer section of Gatineau.
A severe thunderstorm watch was still in effect in the Gatineau area as of 10 p.m. ET. Forecasters predicted there could be torrential downpours, hail and isolated tornadoes.
CBC News Ottawa climatologist Ian Black offers this advice for anyone spotting threatening weather: "Seek shelter immediately, get to the inside of your house, if you have a basement, get into the basement."
It has been a week of wet and warm weather in southwestern Ontario.
