Gregory White, 26, lived with his parents in this house on County Road 6 in Springwater Township, northwest of Barrie, Ont. (CBC) Police near Barrie, Ont., have charged a 26-year-old man with first-degree murder in the death of his parents.
The Ontario Provincial Police announced Monday they have charged Gregory White with two counts of first-degree murder and indecently interfering with human bodies in the death of his parents, Donald White, 53, and Lauredith White, 51.
Gregory White lived with his parents in a single-storey house on County Road 6 near Elmvale, about 30 kilometres northwest of Barrie, Ont.
The investigation began Sunday when police responded to a call that Donald White had failed to show up for work. Police discovered human remains inside the house.
CBC's Trevor Dunn was at the scene Monday and spoke to the Whites' neighbours on the quiet country road where they lived.
"They were shocked to hear the news," Dunn reported for CBC radio. "They say the family kept to themselves."
Gregory White is scheduled to make his first court appearance on April 4.
