Two teenage boys in Toronto have been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old last week.

Tyrone Bracken of Toronto was shot last Wednesday near Bathurst Street and Highway 401. Police found Bracken lying in the west stairwell of 135 Neptune Drive, a community housing building, at about 4 p.m. He died at the scene

The boys charged, ages 16 and 17, cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Bracken's killing was Toronto's 53rd homicide of the year.
