A Montreal man has been charged with mischief relating to damages done during the G20 summit in Toronto last June, police say.

Juan Lepore, 28, was arrested and charged with mischief over $5,000 by Montreal Police Service, Toronto police said in a release on Thursday.

Members of the G20 investigative team were on their way to Montreal to bring Lepore to Toronto, the release said.

No further details were provided.

More than 1,100 people were arrested and detained at the temporary detention centre in Toronto's east end during the July 26-27 summit, but a majority of them were later released without being charged.
