$2.5M of doda seized in GTA

Police in Peel Region west of Toronto have seized more than $2.5 million worth of an illegal drug called doda.
The drug is made by grinding dried opium poppy pods and brewing the resulting powder into a herbal tea.
Police say it has similar, but milder, effects as other opiates such as morphine and heroin, but is just as addictive.
The seizure was made during searches conducted Monday, at homes in Toronto and Brampton and at a Mississauga storage facility.
Police seized more than 200 boxes containing 1,282 kilograms of doda and arrested a 46-year-old Brampton man.
Bhagat Singh is charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking and is to appear in court on April 22.
