Police spent most of Wednesday looking for Sarah Young, 33, and her three-year-old daughter, Madison. The two were found around 3 p.m. ET at a Mississauga hotel. (Toronto Police Service)Police have found the three-year-old girl who was the subject of an Amber Alert in Toronto on Wednesday.
Police at Toronto's 22 Division confirmed they located Madison Young and her mother, Sarah Young, at a hotel in Mississauga at about 3 p.m. ET.
Madison is "very cheerful" and "in good health," said Det. Patrick McGrade. "She's on her way to being placed into emergency foster care this evening."
McGrade said he could not provide much more information because the investigation is still going on.
Sarah Young was being questioned by police when "she began complaining of a medical condition," McGrade said, adding he didn't know the nature of her affliction.
"She was treated by emergency services personnel and was transported to a local hospital."
She has since been discharged and was being questioned by police Wednesday night. McGrade wouldn't say whether she will be charged.
Police issued the Amber Alert earlier in the day, saying they were concerned for the girl's safety. They would not say why, citing privacy concerns.
Police spent the day scouring the southern part of Etobicoke where the girl was last seen.
