A construction worker was killed Tuesday afternoon after a large slab of concrete fell on him while he was working on a bridge in Oakville, Ont.
The man was cutting some concrete from the underside of the Queen Elizabeth Way (QEW) overpass above Bronte Road in Oakville, about 35 kilometres southwest of Toronto. He fell, and the concrete slab he cut out landed on top of him.
The QEW was closed briefly this afternoon as authorities investigated. The man has not been identified.
The provincial Ministry of Labour is investigating the incident.
