Toronto shootings leave 1 dead, 5 injured

Police were called to 1001 Bay St. around 3:20 a.m. ET Sunday to investigate after a man, believed to be about 30 years old, was shot in the back. He was pronounced dead at St. Michael's Hospital, police say.
A gun was recovered near the crime scene. No other details about the victim or possible suspects have been made available.
In a second shooting, reported around 3:30 a.m., three men and two women were shot at the Atlantic Party Hall on Ellesmere Road in Toronto's east end.
Four of the victims were treated and released from various hospitals. One of the men remains in hospital with a gunshot wound to the head.
