A warrant for the arrest of Fredrick McKenzie was issued Tuesday. (Toronto Police Service) Police in Toronto say they are looking for a fourth suspect in the theft of a trailer filled with toys for needy children.
The trailer was stolen Sept. 26 in northwest Toronto and was found Oct. 9 with half of its contents missing.
Police issued an arrest warrant for Fredrick MacKenzie, 43, on Tuesday in connection to the theft.
Police charged three men in connection to the theft earlier this month:
- Wayne Kenny, 27.
- Jason Carrine, 31.
- Wayne Ouimette, 42.
They were allegedly selling toys taken from the trailer out of an apartment building near Weston Road and Highway 401.
Some of the toys in the trailer were recovered when police raided the apartment building, but the rest remain missing.
The toys were destined for the Toys for Tots program, a collaboration between Peel Regional Police and the Salvation Army.
The program raises funds to buy toys at Christmas for children in need.
