Five suspects are being sought after a 19-year-old Toronto man was fatally beaten and stabbed in a plaza near Birchmount Road and Sheppard Avenue East.
The attack happened just after noon on Monday.
The victim, identified as Annushath Indrakanthan, 19, was attacked outside a convenience store in a strip plaza on Bonis Avenue.
Police said in a news release that Indrakanthan was attacked by two men armed with "an edged weapon and an unknown additional weapon."
Witnesses told police there were five males in a white vehicle. Two of the men in the car attacked Indrakanthan and then drove off.
The victim suffered serious stab wounds and died later in hospital.
The death is Toronto's 30th homicide of the year.
