Toronto police are still searching for two suspects they believe are connected to a weekend slaying.

Jarvis St. Remy, 18, was shot and killed late Friday night in the city's west end, near Dundas Street West and St. Clair Avenue.

Police say St. Remy was waiting for a bus at around 10:45 p.m. when two men walked up to him and opened fire.

St. Remy's aunt Sanscha Joseph said she believes her nephew was the victim of mistaken identity.

"I never thought for a minute that it would've happened to my family. I watch it every day on the news, never thought it would happen to my family. I was home with my daughter and my little brother called me and said, 'Sanscha, Jarvis got shot.' And I said, 'OK.' For a minute I didn't think it was real," she said.

Police said the Grade 12 student does not have a criminal record, though it appears he was targeted.

St. Remy's death is the 16th homicide in Toronto in 2009.
