Toronto police are looking for the owners of a Lhasa Apso puppy who was found in a dumpster all wrapped up in plastic and placed in a box.

A cleaner was putting garbage in a dumpster at Yonge Street and Finch Avenue at about 7:40 a.m. Thursday when he heard the puppy whimpering.

In the dumpster he found a four-month-old puppy all packaged up.

The dog was unwrapped and given some water, and then police were called.

Police are asking for the public's assistance in locating the dog's owners.
