GO Transit and its union have reached a revised tentative agreement ending a threat of a bus strike Monday.

GO Transit said Friday night that the tentative agreement must still be ratified by members of the Amalgamated Transit Union and by GO's board of directors.

Regular GO train and GO bus service will continue to operate, it said.

Union members rejected an earlier tentative agreement in December and voted to strike.

About 1,200 bus drivers and other front-line staff were scheduled to walk off the job Monday at 12:01 a.m.

The agreement was reached with the help of a conciliator.

About 30,000 commuters use GO buses daily.
