The loud crowds and vibrant atmosphere at Toronto's BMO Field haven't gone unnoticed by Major League Soccer's brass.
On Wednesday, the league announced that Toronto has been awarded the 2008 MLS all-star game.

"Toronto's response to the arrival of MLS has been nothing short of extraordinary and that is a credit to the excellent leadership of MLSE," commissioner Don Garber said Wednesday, referring to Toronto FC owner Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment.
"Clearly, BMO Field will provide a vibrant and enthusiastic setting for the 2008 Sierra Mist MLS All-Star Game."
The date of the game will be announced at a later date.
The 2007 all-star game is scheduled for Thursday night at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, home of the Colorado Rapids in Commerce City, Colo.
The MLS all-stars, which include Toronto native and Houston Dynamo star Dwayne De Rosario and Toronto FC midfielder Ronnie O'Brien, are taking on Scottish champion Celtic.
For the past three years, the MLS all-stars have played international opponents in the annual match. Previous challengers have been England's Chelsea and Fulham and Mexico's CD Guadalajara.
The MLS all-stars won all three games, outscoring the opposition 8-2.
