The Los Angeles Dodgers certainly got their money's worth from pitcher Brad Penny on Tuesday night.
Penny tossed seven solid innings as the Dodgers embarrassed the Toronto Blue Jays 10-1 before a crowd of 22,763 at the Rogers Centre.

"You give Brad Penny three runs in the first, and three more in the second, you like your chances," said Dodgers left-fielder Luis Gonzalez, who drove in four runs with three hits.
Penny (9-1) scattered six hits, struck out five batters and walked one.
The veteran right-hander hasn't lost since May 18, going unbeaten in six starts, and is 2-0 in four career starts against the Blue Jays.
"I got away with a lot of mistakes," Penny said. "It was my worst location of the year."
"He was solid again tonight," Dodgers manager Grady Little said. "That is what it takes to win games."
Gonzalez provided the bulk of the offensive support, going 3-for-4 with four runs batted in and one run scored.
"I don't think there was a different game plan," he said. "But we got deeper into counts and got key hits."
Russell Martin, a Toronto native who grew up in Montreal, slammed a solo home run for the Dodgers (40-30), winners in five of their last seven games.
"He shows us that day in and day out," Little said. "To be able to show that to his people up here, that is great."
Martin and Marlon Anderson had two hits and two RBIs apiece, while Nomar Garciaparra and Jeff Kent each contributed a pair of hits and an RBI.
Kent and Juan Pierre both scored three times.
"It was most impressive," Little said of the 14-hit onslaught.
Aaron Hill drove in the lone run for the Blue Jays (33-36).
Troy Glaus, Alex Rios and Fredericton's Matt Stairs all had two hits in a losing cause.
Toronto starter Dustin McGowan struggled mightily, coughing up six runs on eight hits in just 1 2/3 innings pitched.
"Everything I threw was flat," he said. "The sinker wasn't really sinking, it was just staying inside the zone."
McGowan (3-3) walked two and whiffed two before being replaced by rookie reliever Jordan De Jong, who surrendered three runs.
On a positive note, 28-year-old rookie reliever Lee Gronkiewicz pitched well in his major-league debut.
Gronkiewicz allowed one run — Martin's homer — on two hits and two walks with two strikeouts over four innings.
Dodgers take 6-0 lead
Los Angeles struck early and struck often, raking McGowan for three runs in the first inning and three more in the second.
Pierre doubled and Garciaparra singled to put two runners in scoring position for Kent, who singled to plate the first run of the contest.
Gonzalez singled in Garciaparra and Kent scored on Anderson's RBI groundout to make it 3-0.
"After that, everything just kind of fell apart for him [McGowan]," Gonzalez said. "And he left some balls up over the plate.
"He had good velocity. His ball just wasn't moving."
In the second inning, Pierre walked and promptly stole second and third before scoring with ease on Garciaparra's RBI single.
After Kent singled, Gonzalez and Martin hit back-to-back RBI singles to make it 6-0.
"Juan created that inning himself," Little said. "With two outs and nobody on, to score three runs — we have not seen much of that this year."
Toronto replied with a run in the bottom of the inning as Glaus doubled, rumbled to third on a single by Stairs and scored on Hill's fielder's choice.
It remained 6-1 until the fourth inning, when the Dodgers went ahead by eight runs.
Pierre singled and stole second and, when Kent walked, Gonzalez stepped to the plate and smacked a two-run double.
Anderson later delivered Gonzalez with an RBI single to make it 9-1.
"This team is built on putting the ball in play and making it happen," Gonzalez said. "We are an aggressive team.
"This team goes up there hacking. Today, we used the middle of the field and hit the ball up the middle."
Martin completed the carnage in the sixth inning with his eighth homer this season, a solo shot to left field.
"It was just a fun day from the get-go," he said. "It's just fun to play in front of all these fans that care about me and my family."
