Toronto police were searching for three suspects Thursday morning after a teenage boy was stabbed on a subway platform at the Kennedy station in the city's east end.
Shortly before midnight, the boy was involved in an altercation with three men on the platform, police say.
The victim, whose age has not been released, was stabbed a number of times. He is in stable condition in hospital, police say.
Police are in the process of compiling descriptions of the suspects.
The Kennedy subway station, located on the Bloor-Danforth line, was the site of a fatal stabbing last Friday. A Toronto Transit Commission worker discovered 21-year-old Nick Brown bleeding to death inside a subway car on the last run of the night.
A lengthy investigation into that stabbing led to the hours-long closure of Kennedy station and the day-long closure of Victoria Park station where the killer was believed to have exited.
