Ontario police review lottery fraud story

Ontario Provincial Police are reviewing a CBC report that an OPP constable suspected that Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. officials obstructed his investigation into a retailer fraud in Coboconk, Ont.
Insp. Dave Ross confirmed the review Tuesday.
The Fifth Estate report on March 14 also revealed six cases of suspected lottery fraud by retailers in 2003, despite a top lottery official's assurance that an incident in Coboconk, Ont., was an isolated case.
The OPP had been investigating the case of 82-year-old Bob Edmonds of Coboconk, who alleged he had his $250,000 lottery ticket stolen by a retail clerk.
