Two young men face charges after seven men, including a police officer, were stabbed during a fight in downtown Toronto early Sunday.
The officer, who was trying to break up a fight on John Street near Pearl Street, was cut in the head when he tried to arrest one of two men, police allege.
All the victims were treated in hospital for injuries that are not considered life threatening.
Kyle Garden and Jordan Brown, both 22, were scheduled to appear in court Monday to face charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault, as well as one charge of assaulting a police officer. They face a total of 41 charges.
The incident came a day after four men were shot outside a nightclub just a few blocks away.
The shooting victims, all in their 20s, suffered a variety of injuries.
