Rocks up to the size of a soccer ball were dropped from a train track overpass in Toronto's northwest end Friday morning, police said.

Three vehicles were hit by the rocks, ranging from the size of a softball to a soccer ball, when they were let go from the overpass at Lawrence Avenue West near Weston Road in the early morning hours, police told the Toronto Star.

There are no reported injuries, but one woman driving underneath was covered in broken glass when a rock shattered her windshield.

Two people arrested at the scene face charges of common nuisance and mischief endangering life.

No identities have been released.

In January, a woman's face was mangled when a 1.1-kilogram chunk of concrete fell from a bridge, smashed through her windshield and struck her in the face.

Nadia McLean, 28, was driving along Highway 401 in Oshawa when the projectile was thrown from the Albert Street bridge.
