Another suspect has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged plot to attack targets in Ontario, the first since an initial sweep netted 17 people, police said Thursday.
Ibrahim Alkhalel Mohammed Aboud, 19, of Mississauga, Ont., is charged under the anti-terrorism provisions of the Criminal Code and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
Aboud was arrested without incident at his residence on Thursday, police said.
Over two days beginning June 2, police arrested 12 men and five youths in southern Ontario and charged them under the federal Anti-terrorism Act.
Earlier Thursday, co-accused Asad Ansari, 21, was denied bail. Reasons for the decision cannot be released due to a publication ban.
So far, two teens and Ahmad Ghany, 21, have been released on bail under strict conditions.
The youngest of the accused was released after a justice of the peace's decision to deny bail was overturned by a provincial judge.
