The head of Toronto's police union stepped down from his post Monday after being linked to an investigation into police corruption.
Rick McIntosh was elected president of the 7,000-member Toronto Police Association in October.
He told a special meeting of the union's board on Sunday that he would voluntarily step aside while the investigation continues.

In an interview Monday, McIntosh said he stepped aside to allow the association to function as smoothly as possible.
"This is absolutely no admission of guilt or wrongdoing at all," he said.
"I haven't been charged with anything and it hasn't even been suggested to me what the alleged wrongdoing is."
McIntosh has been linked to an investigation of an alleged police protection racket in Toronto's entertainment district.
At least one police officer, Det. Const. William McCormack Jr., has been suspended from duty as a result of the probe.
McCormack is a 52 Division plainclothes officer and the son of former police chief William McCormack.
McIntosh also worked at 52 Division before his election as union president last year.
