Southbound DVP reopens after morning closure
Lanes were closed after morning investigation into fatal pedestrian collision
The southbound lanes of the Don Valley Parkway have re-opened after a fatal collision involving a pedestrian led to a full closure during Wednesday's morning commute.
Police were called to the scene just after 6:15 a.m., when a pedestrian was struck on the southbound DVP near Gerrard Street.
After the collision the pedestrian was dragged by a vehicle to south of Dundas Street, where the car came to a stop.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and co-operated with police.
As of 7 a.m., southbound traffic was being forced off the DVP at the Bayview/Bloor exit. The northbound lanes of the DVP at Dundas Street were also blocked with emergency crews.
Toronto police traffic services officer Const. Clint Stibbe said police are trying to determine how the pedestrian ended up on the roadway.
The southbound lanes were re-opened just before 11 a.m.
