Shots fired after fight, victim and suspects flee the scene
A fight inside a McDonald's restaurant appears to have preceded a shooting in Toronto this afternoon, leaving police to look for both a victim and the suspects.
Toronto police say it appears that a fight broke out at about 2:40 p.m. ET Monday at a McDonald’s near Neilson Road and McLevin Avenue.
Police say the fight spilled out into the parking lot and continued at an adjacent lot.
Someone fired several rounds.
Police have since found a bullet hole in the Malvern Town Centre and in a vehicle parked at the scene.
It is not clear if the victim was struck, as he did not stick around for when the officers arrived — and neither did the suspects.
Initial reports suggested there were three suspects involved.
As a result of the shooting, Lester B. Pearson Collegiate Institute on Tapscott Road was temporarily under lockdown. That order has since been lifted.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to call investigators at (416) 808-4200.
