At least one suspect is being sought in connection with a targeted shooting in the Greenwood Avenue and Gerrard Street area that has left one man dead and three others injured, Toronto police say.

The shooting occurred at about 9 p.m. Saturday. Police say that six to eight shots were fired.

A 20-year-old man died at the scene.

On Sunday, Det.-Sgt. Gary Giroux identified the victim as Douglas Parker.

Giroux said that the deceased was familiar with the area, but did not live there.

Three others were taken to hospital, one of whom has since been released.

Police have been canvassing the neighbourhood. Giroux said investigators are looking to people loyal to the deceased for further help with their investigation.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday.
