Runners dodge zombies in Kitchener obstacle course
The Running Dead inspired by TV show
Hundreds of runners are getting ready to dodge zombies in Kitchener, Ont., this weekend as part of the second annual Running Dead obstacle course.
More than two hundred participants signed up to run the 4.1-kilometre course, inspired by the successful apocalyptic-themed TV show The Walking Dead.
Participants will have to run over rough terrain, slide down hills and weave through obstacles — all while avoiding 100 people dressed and made up to look like zombies.
The event is being held Sunday at Bingemans grounds.
"It's scary and it's hard," said participant Natasha Stoyakovch, who had the chance to try the course on Friday. "I think I'd be one of the first killed if there was ever a zombie apocalypse."
