Four people have been rushed to hospital after a vehicle struck a bridge, rolled over and crashed into a glass pedestrian tunnel in Scarborough on Sunday night. 

Paramedics said the call came in at 8:20 p.m. Five people were in the vehicle when it struck a bridge at Progress Avenue and McCowan Road. Four were taken to hospital.

Two people were sent to a nearby hospital, while two others with more serious injuries were taken to the trauma centre at Sunnybrook hospital, police said. 

Their condition is unknown, but none of the injuries are life-threatening.

Police are on scene investigating the cause of the crash. 

The bridge has been closed as workers examine the damage.
