Mayor Rob Ford was among the Toronto councillors feeling the excitement on Thursday as the Canadian women’s hockey team scored a tying goal in their game against the Americans in Sochi.

The mayor, who is a noted sports fan, jumped up and down, pumped a fist and even gave a high-five to another person in council chambers.

Spoiler alert: The women’s team, as most readers will now know, went on to win gold in Sochi on Thursday.
