About 70 Toronto police officers are en route to Moncton, N.B., today to attend the funeral of three RCMP officers slain in a last week’s shooting.

The officers, including Toronto Chief Bill Blair, boarded a Porter Airlines jet at Billy Bishop Airport early Tuesday morning.

Live coverage of the funeral

Coverage of the funeral for the three slain RCMP officers will air on CBC Television and CBC News Network starting at 12 p.m. AT (11 a.m. ET) Tuesday.

The service will also be live streamed on CBCNews.ca and carried on CBC Radio One at 1 p.m. AT.

Thousands of RCMP officers and other law enforcement employees are expected to attend the services and mourn the loss of Const. Dave Ross, Const. Fabrice Georges Gevaudan and Const. Douglas James Larche who were killed in the line of duty.

Justin Bourque, 24,was arrested early Friday and charged with three counts of first-degree murder and two counts of attempted murder in connection with the shootings.
