Power has been restored to the more than 10,000 customers who were without electricity in Markham on Saturday.

The utility company Powerstream said the first outage, caused by an equipment failure, knocked out power for 10,000 customers between Steeles and 16th avenues at about 8:30 a.m. and was resolved by around 11:15 a.m.

Another 102 customers near Kennedy and Warden avenues lost power in a separate outage late Saturday morning.

All power was restored by 1:35 p.m.
