A woman was struck several times and sexually assaulted in a Mississauga park last week and police are seeking public assistance in identifying the suspect.
Peel Regional Police say a 26-year-old woman was walking along a path in Eden Woods Park when a man approached her from behind on the evening of Aug. 13.
After being attacked, police say the victim was able to run away. She was treated for her injuries in hospital.
The suspect is described as being a white male in his 30s who has a muscular build and stands between five feet seven inches and five feet nine inches tall. He has a thin nose, triangular jaw and was wearing a dark, long-sleeved shirt, black pants and running shoes, along with sunglasses, a fitted, black toque and black-and-white gloves.
Police want to speak with anyone who may have seen the man that night, or with those who may know who he is. Anyone with information is asked to contact investigators at 905-453-2121, ext. 3460, or to contact Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
