Police seek info about weekend pedestrian collision
Toronto police say a senior citizen suffered life threatening injuries when he was struck by a Toyota Corolla that was making a left turn last night.
The collision happened on Eglinton Avenue East, east of Midland Avenue. Police responded to a call about the collision at 7:13 p.m.
Police say the Corolla was attempting to turn onto Eglinton Avenue East from a private driveway on the north side of the road.
An 87-year-old man was standing in the "centre common lane," which separates the two sides of traffic.
Police say the man was struck as the Corolla made its turn.
The senior was taken to hospital for treatment.
Last night, police reported that the driver had stayed at the scene and was co-operating with investigators.
Today, police say they want to hear from anyone who has information about the circumstances of the crash.
