Emergency responders were called to the fire behind an auto shop on Toro Road, in the Keele Street and Finch Avenue West area, at about 2:30 a.m.

Four vehicles are considered a write-off, while four others have significant damage.

Toronto police are now attempting to collect and review surveillance video from the area.

"We're just trying to get all the surveillance video we can in the area and some other things we're looking into," Det. Wayne Bates told reporters on Monday.

Seven other vehicles were damaged by fire over the weekend, a bit further south, in the Jane Street and Wilson Avenue area. Police say three of the vehicles were set on fire, while the remaining four were damaged as a result of those fires.

Police aren't sure if the incidents are related. But they are investigating as to whether there are connections.
