Police ID man killed in Brampton daylight shooting

Peel police have identified a man killed in a daylight shooting on Monday afternoon as 37-year-old Oliver Augustas Willis.

Peel police have identified a man killed in a daylight shooting on Monday afternoon in Brampton as 37-year-old Oliver Augustas Willis.

Officers responded to reports of "multiple" gun shots in the area of Vodden Street East and Cumberland Drive at about 2:40 p.m. At the scene they found Willis suffering from bullet wounds.

Willis, who is from Brampton, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Peel police Const. Lori Murphy said there were no immediate leads on possible suspects, but a dark-coloured vehicle was seen fleeing the area after the shots rang out. 

Anyone with potentially valuable information is asked to call Peel police or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
