Toronto police are investigating after a man was shot near Woodbine Racetrack early Saturday morning.

The man, who has not been identified, was found lying in the driveway of the racetrack on Rexdale Boulevard at about 4 a.m.

He told police he had been shot in the lobby of a nearby apartment building on Queen's Plate Drive.  When police investigated they found broken glass and a number of bullet holes in the lobby.

The 27-year-old victim was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds to his abdomen.

His condition has not been released.
