Toronto police are appealing to the public for help in finding a 13-year-old boy.

Toronto police are appealing to the public for help in finding a 13-year-old boy.

Samir Abdinassir, 13, was last seen in the Dixon Road/Kipling Avenue area on Friday afternoon. (TPS)

Samir Abdinassir was last seen near the intersection of Dixon Road and Kipling Avenue on Friday afternoon around 3 p.m. ET wearing a striped grey shirt, black pants and carrying a black backpack.

Police carried out an extensive canvass of the area last night and this morning, but have thus far failed to find any signs of the teen. It is the first time he has gone missing, police told CBC News.

Abdinassir is described as black, five feet six inches tall, with short black hair and brown eyes.
