Peel police officer charged with assault
Const. Tomasz Laskowski charged after SIU probe into confrontation with a 22-year-old Mississauga man
An officer with the Peel Regional Police has been charged with assault causing bodily harm, the Special Investigations Unit said Friday.
According to an SIU spokesperson, the charge was laid against Const. Tomasz Laskowski following an investigation into a confrontation between the officer and a 22-year-old man at the intersection of Cliff Road and Mississauga Valley Boulevard in Mississauga in February.
Const. Laskowski will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton on July 7.
SIU did not provide any further details and said they will not be commenting further as the case is before the courts.
