A pedestrian has suffered life threatening injuries after he was struck by a vehicle near Eglinton Avenue East and Midland Avenue.

Paramedics were called to the scene at 7:13 p.m.

The pedestrian was taken to a local hospital.

Toronto police say the driver involved in the collision stayed at the scene and is co-operating with officers.

The collision will soon be under investigation by traffic services.

Eglinton Avenue East has been shut down in both directions between Midland Avenue and Brimley Road.
