Pedestrian killed near Yonge and Steeles

Police are asking for the public's help after a woman was struck and killed by a car in the city's north end.

Police are asking for the public's help after a pedestrian was struck and killed by a car near the intersection of Dumont Street near Otonabee Avenue, in the city's north end near Yonge Street and Steeles Avenue East. 

A 77-year-old woman was crossing Dumont at about 6:15 p.m. ET when she was struck by a northbound Toyota Corolla. She was rushed to hospital where she later died of her injuries. 

The car was being driven by a 26-year-old man. He remained on the scene and is co-operating with the investigation, say police.
