Peel Paramedics responded to the scene near Burnhamthorpe and Mill Roads on the border of Mississauga and Toronto around 2:30 p.m. Thursday. The car was in a parking lot outside a condo tower.

Tatiana Gonzalez, who lives in the building, said a fellow resident alerted security after seeing the child in the vehicle. Security officers broke the car's window to remove the child, Gonzalez said.

One person is now in custody.
