Environment Canada has ended a special weather statement for the Greater Toronto Area after heavy downpours and thunderstorms overnight Monday but weather will remain unsteady for the next few days with more showers and possible storms expected.

A round of storms is moving through the GTA, as well as the Niagara region and off the southern shore of Lake Huron to the west, according to CBC meteorologist Jay Scotland.

Showers and risk of thunderstorms remain in effect for Monday afternoon with a high of 28 C. The weather is expected to clear by evening with a low of 18 C before more rain and possible storms Tuesday.
